CBD: Prospective Treatment for Anxiety
Patients diagnosed or undiagnosed with an anxiety disorder are unique with CBD/Medical Marijuana Treatment. With Marijuana, certain strains help more than others. Some strains can contribute to the disorder. However, a new study proposes that cannabidiol, or CBD, is a potential treatment for anxiety disorders. The THC (or delta-9-tetryahydrocannabinol) can increase anxiety, panic, or nervousness in some people. CBD oil, however, is nonpsychotropic. This mean it won’t cause the user to feel ‘stoned’ or have the intoxication sensations associated with Marijuana. THC binds to cannabinoid receptors in the body, while CBD doesn’t work the same, mind-altering way. Marijuana is a great treatment for some forms of anxiety, but, some researchers point to studies that show existing preclinical evidences strongly supports CBD as a treatment option for:
- Panic Disorders.
- Obsessive-Compulsive Disorders.
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD.)
- Social Anxiety Disorder
- Generalized Anxiety
